What GMRI measures
The aggregate market capitalisation of tokenized physical-metal Real-World-Asset (RWA) tokens, plus on-chain uranium concentrate (XU3O8). Rescaled to a base value of 100 on 7 June 2026.
Universe
Eighteen constituents covering gold (PAXG, XAUT, KAU and others), silver (KAG, XAGM), and uranium³O₈ (XU3O8). Wrapped duplicates (XAUT0), non-metal commodities (VEREM) and sub-million-dollar derivative rStock products are excluded for stability.
Weighting
Headline GMRI is market-cap-weighted — the standard for broad commodity and equity indices. A secondary equal-weighted reading (GMRI-EW) is published as a breadth signal.
Data source
Primary data: CoinGecko tokenized-commodities category endpoints. Daily snapshots pulled at 00:00 UTC. No filtering of organic price action; only the constituent universe is fixed.
Cadences
Daily close is the base series. Weekly close = Friday 00:00 UTC. Monthly close = last calendar day. Yearly close = 31 December.
Why it exists
Existing crypto indices either bundle all RWAs together (treasuries, real estate, commodities) or cover single-metal tokens only. GMRI is the first published index focused on the metals-RWA segment as a coherent asset class — the segment most directly connected to physical metal markets.
Re-basing rule
If the index value exceeds 1,000 for four consecutive weekly closes, GMRI is re-based to a new Series (A → B → C …) at 100. A continuity multiplier is published so the full historical chart remains visible on a single scale. This is standard practice (S&P 500, NASDAQ and Bloomberg Commodity have all done similar resets). GMRI starts as Series A, 7 June 2026 = 100.
What stays proprietary
The maintainer rules — constituent inclusion/exclusion procedure, re-balancing schedule, and corporate-action handling — are proprietary to TrueSource Metals. The published numbers, composition and methodology principles above are fully transparent.

Regulatory context
GMRI tracks tokens that are issued under specific licences (Singapore MAS PS Act, EU MiCA, US securities laws, UAE VARA and others). Issuing or operating one of these tokens is a regulated activity. See the Compliance Roadmap for a primary-source walk-through of the 6 steps and 10 jurisdictions involved.
